AFTER CARE / WASHING INSTRUCTIONS

Not all people have the facilities to wash their car at home and during the winter months this can also prove to be difficult.
At all costs avoid using the drive through car wash with harsh brush’s, this will leave scratch’s and swirl marks on your car’s finish.

WASH HALL INSTRUCTIONS

Not all people have the facilities to wash their car at home and during the winter months this can also prove to be difficult.
at all costs avoid using the drive through car wash with harsh brush’s, this will leave scratch’s and swirl marks on your car’s finish.

If you use the wash hall it is best to pre-wash  the entire car including the wheels with pre wash foam and leave standing for 3-5 minutes before using the high pressure water to rinse off (usually option 1 on the wash program).

You can also use degreaser 3-4 times per year before the pre-wash to help remove any road pollution that sticks to the cars paint (this will not affect the coating).

You may also choose to use iron x on the wheels and lower part of the cars body at this stage to remove any brake dust fallout, again wait 3-5 minutes before rinsing off (this also will have no affect on the coated parts).

Next cover the car in shampoo (making sure the shampoo does not contain wax) and using your own microfibre wash mitt(glove) proceed to wash the car before once again using the high pressure water to completely rinse off.

Do not use a sponge or wash brush.

Always use a seperate wash mitt or brush for the wheels.

Use a good quality microfibre drying towel to dry the car to prevent water spots  (but not essential in the wet winter months).

WASHING AT HOME

Use a foam lance fitted to your pressure cleaner to apply a thick layer of snow foam , leaving for 3-5 minutes before using pressure cleaner to rinse off. If you do not have a pressure cleaner and/or foam lance ,then a pressure sprayer can also be used, also you can get a foam lance to suit your garden hose.

Once again degreaser may be used first to help remove road pollution , soak the affected areas , normally from the windows down, use seperate wash mitt for this, hose off then proceed with your pre-wash.

For the best result use 2 buckets with grit guards fitted , 1 bucket with shampoo and the other with clean water.
Using your microfibre wash mitt , soak in the shampoo bucket and wash 1-2 panels of the car at a time, rinsing the wash mitt in the bucket of water to remove any dirt before re doing the shampoo process.

If the buckets of water and shampoo become too dirty , empty and use new shampoo and water.
Always wash the wheels last and always with another wash mitt.

Once all the soap has been rinsed off the entire car it is best to use a microfiber drying towel to dry the car for best results.

CLEANING TIPS

When the car is soaked in the pre-wash soap, start at the bottom first, rinsing from side to side , finishing at the top.

Never use a wash brush or sponge on painted surfaces as these hold small amounts of dirt and brake dust which will scratch the painted surface.

Always wash from the top of the car and work your way down.

Never use the same wash mitt for the body and the wheels.

Using iron x on the wheels and lower part of the body will remove any brake dust fall out , you will see these particles turning a purple colour before rinsing off.

Using snow foam first will remove almost all dirt and grime before the washing stage.

All products needed are available from your approved applicator and most detailing shops, for example, biltema, bilxtra, mekonomen or online.
